Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) Products
TIRF Labs, formerly TIRF Technologies, offers broad range of TIRF products: for TIRF Microscopy, TIRF Spectroscopy, TIRF ElectroChemistry (TIRF-EC), and Shallow Angle Fluorescence Microscopy (SAFM) - novel method originated from TIRF. We also offer TIRF illuminators, automated TIRF fluidics, chemically modified TIRF and TIRF-EC slides, and microarrays of DNA and protein assays printed on the surface of TIRF and TIRF-EC slides. Modular design allows to configure our TIRF products in accordance with the level of sophistication of your research tasks and available budget. Base odels of TIRF microscopy and TIRF spectroscopy systems are factory-aligned devices that are ready for quick start TIRFing using gravity flow and manually controlled illuminators. At the sophisticated end, we offer turnkey TIRF-EC microscopy systems for single molecule detection and manipulation, and automated TIRF-EC biosnesors with integrated software package for instrument control, data acquisiotion and analysis.

TIRF Biosensor - FluoroGazer
Fluorogazer is a TIRF biosensor instrument, which is equipped with low-light photodetector, multicolor illuminator, filter wheels, electric field control, TIRF flow cell, and computer-controlled fluidics capable of delivering multiple analyte solutions and buffers. The limit of detection of FluoroGazer is at the level of single molecules. User friendly software contains templates for typical TIRF sensogram measurements and wizard for designing of custom TIRF experiments, monitoring fluorescence polarization, Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET), and fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP). |

TIRF Microscopy
We offer novel lightguide-based TIRF Microscopy (lgTIRFM) systems that, in contrast to inflexible through-objective TIRFM, can be used with dry, water- and oil-immersion objectives. lgTIRFM is compatible with virtually any illuminator - LED, xenon-, halogen lamp, or lasers. lgTIRFM systems are equipped with either open perfusion chambers or closed flow cells. We also offer prism-based TIRFM systems. Optional modules for TIRFM include: electrochemical, electric field and dielectrophoretic control, computer-controlled fluidics, filter wheels, PMT and low light EM CDD cameras. Modular design enables different configurations of TIRFM systems - from manual to fully automated. |

Shallow Angle Fluorescence Microscopy (SAFM)
SAFM is novel method of surface selective fluorescence microscopy related to TIRFM. In TIRFM the excitation beam is directed to the interface at the angle larger than critical. The bean reflects back into the lightguide and excites only particles located at the surface and in close proximity 0.1-0.2-microns to the interface. In SAFM, the angle of incidence is smaller than critical, so that the excitation beam refracts at the interface glass/water and enters the solution phase at shallow angle. SAFM beam propagates along the surface illuminating 4-100 microns of the solution. Unlike TIRFM, which visualizes only contacts between cells and TIRF surface, SAFM is capable of visualization whole cells, including large neurons.

TIRF Accessories for Fluorometers TA1004
TIRF Technologies supplies TIRF flow systems for fluorescence spectrophotometers as factory aligned accessories, assembled on a sample compartment of the fluorometer of your choice. We support Horiba-SPEX Fluorolog and Fluoromax, ISS K2, SLM AB-2, 4800 and 8100, Shimadzu, Hitachi, Varian Eclipse and PTI as well as homebuilt fluorometers. TIRF Accessories can be used to monitor the kinetics of biomolecular interactions, fluorescence lifetime, polarization, anisotropy decay, quenching, Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET), fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), and correlation spectroscopy (FCS). TIRF Accessory TA1004 can be used with gravity flow or our computer-controlled fluidic system TF1005. TIRF-EC -electrochemical control is available as an option. |

| Multi-LED Illuminator
Multicolor TIRF illuminator is equipped with 7 bright LED and bandpass filters. Each LED provides up to 100 mW of monochromatic light and is controlled independently with response time 1 ms or better. 7 positions of the illuminator can be populated in any combination either with LEDs or 150 mW 532 nm green or 635/650 nm red lasers. The illuminator can be programmed using touch-screen display, or controlled by external computer connected via USB port. |

| DNA and Protein Microarrays
TIRF Technologies offers DNA and protein arrays printed on the surface of TIRF and TIRF-EC slides. In cotrast to traditional microarrays that read only end-point results, TIRF arrays monitor the kinetics of nucleic acid hybrydization and protein-target interactions. The diamerter of each spot in array is 0.2 mm, and single TIRF or TIRF-EC slide can carry from 4 to 400 assays. For detection of DNA/RNA we offer arrays of reagentless fluorescence assays based on molecular beacons, for detection of proteins - surface-immobilized immunoassays.
